Tipuric will make his first Ospreys appearance of the season in a vitally important clash against the Cardiff Blues at the Liberty Stadium this Saturday. Having been one of Wales’ standout performers at the World Cup Tipuric’s focus is now purely on guiding the Ospreys up the Conference A table.
“It’s good to be back with the Ospreys boys,” he said. “The start of the season has been tough to watch.
“It’s probably harder watching it in the house than being there. I’m straight back into it but I’ve had a lot of stick from the boys asking me how my holiday has been.
“You much rather be on the field and putting the effort in with the boys. I’ve screamed at the TV over the last couple of weeks.
“It helps that I come from the Ospreys region and I’ve grown up being a supporter. My local club Trebanos is in the Ospreys region.
“That was my aim as a kid to come up through the ranks and represent my region. Every time you put on that shirt you feel honoured to represent the Ospreys.”
The Ospreys are sixth in Conference A and face a stern examination at the Liberty Stadium against a Cardiff Blues side who have one of the deadliest back-lines in the PRO14. And Tipuric is expecting a difficult assignment.
“The Blues have an excellent back-line,” he said. “They are going to be trying to throw the ball around to get their back-line firing.
“They play some fancy rugby and it’s going to be tough for us to try and stop that.”
