Williams’ fly-half Sam Costelow – a member of the current junior Six Nations squad – has been training with Wayne Pivac’s senior Wales party this week.
The Leicester Tigers man, who has been capped eight times at Under-20 level, has been brought in as Wales prepare to face France in Cardiff on Saturday.
Williams said: “It’s good exposure for Sam and hopefully he has the opportunity to harness the lessons we discussed from the Irish game within that environment and bring that back into ours.
“Each player’s development is taken on an individual basis. We’re in close communication with the regions on a regular basis. We want the boys playing.
“We’re always open with the boys that are playing and that’s managed along with their physical development at the same time.”
Last season’s Wales Under-20 cap and Dragons back-row forward Taine Basham is a member of Pivac’s senior squad for the current Six Nations.
His junior team-mates from last year Corey Baldwin and Ryan Conbeer have also had regular senior rugby at Guinness PRO14 level with the Scarlets this term.
Basham has been in the same boat at Rodney Parade.
Williams believes it shows the Welsh Rugby Union’s player pathway is working ahead of his team’s clash with France in Colwyn Bay on Friday night.
Wales will face Les Bleus after a 17-7 defeat by Italy in their opening game and then a 36-22 loss to tournament favourites Ireland in Cork.
France, meanwhile, are also looking to bounce back from defeat following a dramatic 29-24 reversal to England in Grenoble.
Talking about the upcoming test, Williams was full of praise for France’s development set-up and stated his side will have to “appreciate the challenge” in front of them.
Williams said: “France’s system has been excellent over the last few years. It has been exceptional how they’ve harnessed the large player pool they’ve got and worked that within the strong club structure.
“It’s something to really admire.
“You see a lot of those boys now coming through at senior levels. They’ve got a real targeted strategy and they’ve always got a good team at this level.
“They’ve been flag bearers for this age group for the last few years.”
