The Cardiff Blues man will pack down at No 8 on Saturday having recovered from a hamstring injury which kept him out of the first three rounds of the Guinness Six Nations. But he is extremely excited for this weekend’s test against an England side who are still in contention for the championship.
“I’m chomping at the bit to get some rugby under my belt and I can think of no better game to come back in than against England at Twickenham,” he said.
“They are physical, good over the ball and they’ve got some good carriers there. They are quite dynamic as a back-row and it will be a challenging contest but I’m looking forward to it.
“The weather hasn’t been great over the past month but hopefully we can get some dry weather this weekend. Hopefully it will be a fast and open game.
“It’s always an edgy week and you know it’s just across the bridge. It comes a lot from the fans and just do what we do every week.
“We make sure we take care of ourselves in the preparation.”
Wales were disappointed to have lost to both Ireland and France earlier in the championship but Navidi insists they are confident they can turn it around at Twickenham this weekend.
He said: “It’s been tough for the boys losing out in Ireland and then France at home. We gave away too many opportunities to the French and it was there for the grasp but we just let it slip.
“The boys are still hurting from that but we are looking forward to playing England this weekend. It will be nice to finish off the Six Nations with two wins.
“We are looking forward to facing England on Saturday.”
