The two teams meet at Principality Stadium this weekend with Wayne Pivac’s side looking for a third straight Championship win after back-to-back successes over Ireland and Scotland.
“As a coach, you have to remove yourself from the emotions of it all,” said Humphreys.
“You have a job to do to prepare the players as best you can for what is an extremely intense occasion.
“They’ll bring that more towards the end of the week.
“It’s important we don’t play this game today or tomorrow, but on Saturday, and it’s our jobs as coaches to make sure we’re in a position to be as best as we can for that game.
“England are a world-class team. A couple of months ago, they were winning the Six Nations and the Autumn Nations Cup so we’re expecting a huge physical challenge.
“It’s a massive Test match with everything that goes with Wales against England.
“We’re expecting the very best version of England.”

Wales have experienced trio George North, Jonathan Davies and Josh Navidi back from injury and available for selection against England.
If he makes Pivac’s matchday 23 for the game, North will win his 100th Welsh cap.
Centre Johnny Williams is also back available.
Leigh Halfpenny is continuing to go through the return-to-play concussion protocols.
“We’ve got a full bill of health. We’ve got a full squad to choose from which causes a headache but is really positive,” said Humphreys.
“There is a lot of competition for places. It’s a real positive for us. There are a lot of people, after the experiences of the autumn, who have really come forward.
“They’re causing a lot of discussion for us as coaches. The selection meetings have been a lot longer than they were a couple of months ago.
“There are some really difficult discussions going on about the combinations but, for us, that’s very positive. This tournament was always going to be about the here and now and winning.
“We’re two from two and we’re happy with that but, for us, there is a hell of a lot of work that we need to do if we’re going to continue that winning form.”
