Jones is 35 and world rugby’s most capped player on 157 appearances, but he shows no signs of slowing down and last month led his country to a Guinness Six Nations title.
He is also a contender to lead the British & Irish Lions in South Africa this summer.
Ospreys captain Tipuric hopes Jones’ decision to stay in Welsh rugby for at least another 12 months can help both his region and country achieve great things.
Tipuric has played his entire professional career alongside Jones and said of his compatriot: “He just keeps going. He’s a machine, isn’t he? The guy is just incredible.
“Even in this good weather he’s been running around like a madman. He never slows down. The way he’s going he’ll be going till he’s 45!
“He doesn’t miss a training session. It’s crazy. He looks after himself so well and doesn’t miss anything.
“Most people miss the odd session when they’re getting on a bit, but he does every single one. He loves any opportunity he gets to put the Ospreys jersey on and he wears it with pride.
“He always wants to do well and it means a lot to him. Any squad needs a balance between the youthful passion and the old experience to make them better.”

Jones and Tipuric have been part of a golden generation of Welsh success at Test level.
Both play for a region that was used to winning 10 years ago, but has fallen on hard times in more recent years.
But under new head coach Toby Booth, the Ospreys look to be back on an upward curve.
“It’s obviously great Alun Wyn has signed a new contract,” said Booth.
“He’s an incredible player, an icon of Welsh rugby, and at his home region. It speaks volumes for what he and we want to do on and off the pitch so I’m delighted about that.”
Tipuric captained the Ospreys to a Rainbow Cup win over Cardiff Blues at the weekend and hailed Booth’s impact.
“Everyone is pulling the same way and there is a lot of hard work going on above us. Toby has come in and added his say,” said Tipuric, who will hope to be a Lion for the third time this summer.
“He’s worked hard and wants everyone else to work hard with him. It takes a lot of hard work to be a good rugby team and we’ve shown that this season.
“You think rugby is all about the ball, but a lot of the hard work is done without it so he points us in the right direction and then it’s up to us.
“We’re heading in the right direction, but we’ve got a lot of hard work to do if we want to get to where we want to be. We’re getting there slowly.
“We do play the game to win trophies and it’s been a long time since the Ospreys were in contention for it. That’s the main aim – to get back to those glory days of winning trophies and being successful.”
