Both players have earned a place on the bench to as they bid to finish their first season in the Saracens’ 1st XV with the top club trophy.

Eight-times capped back row Georgia, who joined the London-based club last summer said, “It was a bold move to come to the champions but I wanted to back myself and give myself a good challenge in what was due to be Rugby World Cup year.

“The move hasn’t come without its challenges but working with some of the best players in the world and great coaches has really pushed me as a player to step up my game.

“I couldn’t have dreamed of a better season to be honest. I didn’t expect to make it into the starting line-up at all with so many world cup winners and international back row players at the club but working alongside them has really enhanced my game and getting my first taste of wearing the starting shirt was awesome, something I certainly want more of.

“I want to put a marker down and make it my own, that’s my aim.”
Evans believes an appearance in the final is the icing on the cake this year.

“Just being able to play rugby was a gift this season, given the year we’ve all had. That was enough to keep me happy and smiling all year, we are all very grateful for that.

“But now to have the chance to win the title is something very special. There is a never-say-die attitude at the club and we will put everything we’ve got into coming away with the spoils.”

Donna Rose – who has enjoyed a rapid rise in fortunes having joined Saracens two seasons ago and converting to prop before picking up her first three international caps in this year’s Women’s Six Nations– agrees wholeheartedly with her teammate.

“There is huge rivalry between the two clubs so we are expecting a clash of the titans, quite literally! There is great depth in both squads – I think that’s what made the difference in our semi-final against Loughborough Lightning.

“I played Harlequins earlier this year and it was a draw so it’s definitely going to come down to the wire. We are determined to come away with the silverware – it would be a great reward for the season, not just for us players and staff but for the fans too – it made such a difference to have a crowd at the semi.”
