The 27-year-old loosehead was one of five uncapped players named in Wayne Pivac’s squad for this summer’s Test with Canada and two meetings with Argentina.
Thomas has appeared off the bench in both the win over Canada and last weekend’s 20-20 draw with Argentina, but starts against the Pumas this weekend.
It will represent a fine achievement for the former Scarlets academy player who had a strong domestic campaign at regional level.
“It’s going to be a special day and I’m really looking forward to it,” said Thomas.
“Having a start gives me a little bit more of an opportunity and time on the field. Hopefully I can show more of what I can do.
“I feel when you come off the bench it’s hard not to chase stuff and look for too much to do.
“Hopefully we can come out firing on Saturday from the start and get a good win against a team we drew against last weekend.
“I’ve been really fortunate my family and friends have been able to come and watch the games so far.
“They love it and come up from west Wales.
“It’s a good hour-and-a-half or two-hour drive for them. They’ll be up on Saturday I’m sure.”

Thomas is one of three Ospreys looseheads in the current Wales squad alongside Nicky Smith and Rhodri Jones who is on the bench this weekend.
Wales head coach Pivac has made seven changes to his starting team for Argentina this weekend with Thomas and Leon Brown coming in as the two props.
“It just shows the good work Duncan Jones and Toby Booth have done since they’ve come in at the Ospreys. It’s not just in the scrum, but in every way,” said Thomas.
“Boothy has done a great job in all aspects and Duncan has really concentrated on the scrum this year. It shows how dominant we’ve been all season with three of us here.
“It’s always been a dream to play for Wales. I probably haven’t had that much opportunity to play at the Ospreys, but since Boothy has come in he’s given me that opportunity and I’ve played well.
“I’m really happy to be involved here now and hopefully I can continue to grow and to push for a position.”
