The squad trained at the National Centre of Excellence before travelling to Bisham Abbey where they will take part in a training session against England Under 20s.
Cunningham said, “This weekend will give us a good opportunity to observe players who are fairly new to the environment against opposition other than ourselves. It will be our last opportunity to see some of these players – such as Cerys Williams, Sian Davies, Emma Swords, Lleucu (George) at 10, Sisilia (Tuipulotu) – in our environment – before we go into more of a Six Nations mode. Sioned Harries has also been invited to join the camp but her involvement in training will be limited due to an injury picked up last weekend for her club.
“We want to put into practice some of the things we’ve been working on in training and add the intensity of training against quality opposition. We are grateful to the RFU for the opportunity as we continue to prepare for the Six Nations.
“There is always an opportunity for players to put their hands up for one of the remaining retainer contracts. We will look at their input with us and in their club performances in the coming weeks.”
