In the first match of the day, Ospreys went toe to toe against Cardiff.
Cardiff made quick work of an opening attack to run the ball out wide to Nia Fajeyisan. A strong carry from the centre sent her over the line for the opening try to put Cardiff 5-0 ahead.
Ospreys battled back with a rip from Robyn Davies setting her side up nicely for the attack in their opponents half. The hosts dominated territory in the opening half but struggled to turn possession into points on the board against a robust Cardiff defence.
Cardiff managed to capitalise on an opportunity to turn the tables after a break from Shanelle Williams who took play into the Ospreys half. Good support kept Cardiff in firm control and quick work sent Ella Fry over for their second try of the match.
Ospreys looked to get on the board and carried well again to take play into Cardiff’s 22. Despite a huge effort in attack from the Ospreys, Cardiff made sure to keep them at bay, but a penalty from Hanna Marshall put the scores at 3-10 at the break.
Coming out for the second half, Ospreys looked to build on their first half territory and convert pressure into points but Cardiff kept applying the pressure and denied them a shot at the whitewash.
Turning their hosts over and charging back up field, Cardiff sailed through with Williams clinching the try to keep Cardiff’s unbeaten run intact a 3-15 victory against Cardiff Rugby.
In the second match of the day Scarlets took on RGC in a physical encounter between the two.
RGC were first to make headway into the Scarlets half after a good stage of play to give them the upper hand. Spying the gap, Saran Jones crashed over the line for the opening try to put RGC 5-0 ahead.
Scarlets answered by ploughing back up field with a blitzing attack. Good interplay brought them within inches of the line with penalties stacking in their favour.
One penalty too many for RGC put them down to 14 allowing the Scarlets to take advantage and clinch the try through Carys Hughes to level the score at half time.
A tug of war second half broke out with each side battling to gain the upper hand over the other.
RGC looked to be in for the try only for Scarlets to turn them over on the line to keep them clear. A yellow card, this time for the Scarlets, handed RGC the advantage but Scarlets did well to regroup and fight back.
Scarlets looked to gain the momentum and push forward but struggled to get over the gain line and convert into points leaving the final scores 5-5.
