GB Women will now join Australia, Brazil, France, Ireland, New Zealand and United States at next year’s showpiece event, which will be held at Stade de France in Paris, with the final spot to be determined at a repechage tournament.
The GB Men’s squad which featured Welsh duo Tom and Morgan Williams, lost out to Ireland in their own qualification encounter, losing 26-12 in the final of the Men’s 2023 European Games’ 7s competition.
They remain in the mix for Paris 2024, however, with a repechage competition scheduled for June 2024, where one final Olympic berth will be allocated to the winner of that event.
