The senior men’s team debuted their formalwear at the Rugby World Cup 2023 and the senior women’s team wore their suits at a WRU engagement earlier this month (as pictured). Hawes & Curtis will remain as the Official Formalwear Supplier of the Welsh Rugby Union until 2026.
WRU Commercial and Legal Director, Rhodri Lewis says, “The Welsh Rugby Union are delighted to partner with esteemed formalwear brand Hawes & Curtis.
“They have a rich history of providing meticulously crafted, high quality garments which can be seen in the suits as worn by both our men’s and women’s senior teams.
“As a heritage brand, we share many of the same values which can be applied to elite sport and I look forward to seeing our teams look sharp, both on and off the pitch.”
With a heritage and authenticity spanning 110 years, Hawes & Curtis have extended their meticulously curated style to the Welsh Rugby Union, presenting everything from formal suiting and smart-casual shirting. The senior men’s team opted for a two-piece tailored fit charcoal suit, made from the finest super 110s pure Italian wool and featuring notch lapels and mock-horn buttons, and the senior women’s side opted for a similar, single breasted sophisticated style but in black. Both teams have been supplied with non-iron white twill shirts.
Hawes & Curtis are owned by entrepreneur Touker Suleyman, known by many as one of the investor ‘Dragons’ on BBC’s Dragon Den. Speaking on the partnership Suleyman said, “I am thrilled to announce our partnership with the Welsh Rugby Union and look forward to the exciting times ahead of us.
“From everyone at Hawes & Curtis, we want to wish all the WRU teams the best of luck.”
