Equally at home at outside half and full back, Walsh has developed into a key playmaker for the Welsh region, scoring 131 points in his 31 Ospreys appearances to date – 51 of those points have come this season.
“We were really happy to get this one over the line, Jack has been a real Swiss army knife for us since he joined. When you consider the skillset he possesses, his rugby league background, and his versatility, he’s a player that a lot of coaches would like,” said Ospreys head coach Toby Booth.
“Jack has great maturity and understands the modern game well, even though he’s only 24. He enjoys the responsibility and puts his hand up in big moments. He also challenges himself and his teammates to get better every day which culturally is great.”
The Florida-born Walsh is a product of the New South Wales Waratahs academy and played for Australia U18. He joined Exeter from Sydney club Manley Marlins in 2020 and joined the Ospreys in 2022.
“I’m enjoying my rugby at the moment, so it’s great to be able to continue my career with the Ospreys. There’s a quality bunch of players and coaches at this team, we’re a really tight-knit group,” said Walsh.
“We’re going well this season with a young squad that has a lot of potential, and we’re focused on seeing what we can achieve, now and in the future.”
