Morgan hooked on success with Quins

A second hat-trick of the season by Wales U18 winger Tom Bowen has seen the Cardiff flyer propel himself to second spot on the try scoring charts of Super Rygbi Cymru after five rounds.

A great support runner and a player who clearly has a nose for the try-line, Bowen has pounced for six tries, just one behind Carmarthen Quins’ Lewis Morgan. The former Wales U20 hooker has been in impressive form this season and bagged himself a brace last weekend against Pontypool to lead the way with seven touchdowns. Bridgend’s Edd Howley and RGC’s Sam Stoddard are close behind however, with five tries apiece.

Three players have alreayd reached a half century of points with Ebbw Vale fly half Evan Lloyd leading the way with 54 points with a 76% success rate with the boot. He is just two points ahead of Pontypool’s Kieran Meek and four points ahead of RGC’s Billy McBryde.

Morgan is proving a real asset for Quins this season – he has made more dominant tackles (six) than any other player but has a posse of players chasing him on five including Llandovery’s Edd Sheldon, Swansea’s Joe Thomas and Carmarthen Quins’ Josh Helos.
