Billy McBryde has made a welcome return to north Wales after a playing stint in Doncaster and after slotting five penalties and four conversions in RGC’s spectacular triumph over Pontypool last weekend, he finds himself the leading points scorer in the league with 38 points.
With several marksmen in the league, goal kicking could prove crucial to any team’s ambitions. Swansea’s Josh Phillips has 33 points next to his name to be in second place on the points tally, although he is the only sharp shooter who boasts a 100 per cent success rate after three rounds.
The hookers’ union is being well represented on the try scoring front with Carmarthen Quins number two Lewis Morgan leading the way with most touchdowns with five, but Newport’s Wade Langley is hot on his heals with four.
RGC’s Sam Stoddart also has four while Cardiff finisher Dewi Cross, a regular contender on the try scoring stakes over the past two years, has already bagged three along with Bridgend’s Edd Howley.
Morgan Allen had been a regular on the charts over the past couple of campaigns and he is still showing up well with his new club, Pontypool.
He has made more carries (52) than any other player and beaten more defenders (26) than any other player.
Young Bridgend centre Tom Florence has started the season well and has the second most carries (48) and has also beaten 11 defenders.
Carmarthen Quins seasoned campaigner Lewys Millin leads the tackle count (39) with teammate Josh Helps (36) his nearest challenger.
