Former Ospreys man Price, who was an early replacement for Ben Burnell, who was forced off with a hamstring injury, pulled the strings at outside half for the visitors – while adding the extras to all five of their tries.
Left wing Mccauley Rowley scored in each half, with right wing Cameron Ellis, No 8 Thomas Jevons and replacement Corey Lewis also on the scoresheet in a five-star performance that ended their six-game losing run.
“Pricey is a general on the pitch, a coach on the pitch and he’s just barking orders. He reminds me of someone at the level of Dan Biggar, constantly in your ear, but as a forward you love that – because you just want to know exactly where to be all the time,” said Baldwin.
“I think he’s a class act, on and off the pitch; when he was injured, he was giving all the information, and he’s just transferred that.
“Gutted to lose Ben, because he’s such a talented player, and when they’ve played together this season, they’ve been brilliant, so we were looking forward to seeing that, but hopefully Ben’s back soon.”
RGC started the better of the two sides, but Bridgend’s defence held firm and allowed their attack to strike for two devastating scores in quick succession from Rowley and then Ellis, both converted, to give them a 14-0 lead at the break.
Rowley scored again after the re-start with Jevons and Lewis also crashing over, all improved by Price, with a late drop goal from Edd Howley completing a thumping win.
Hooker Rhodri King, centre Harri Hughes and Osian Burt replied for the Gogs in the second half. Billy McBryde converted two of them.
“I keep banging the drum about it, but there’s so much talent in this group. It was a brilliant performance and the one thing we need to get better at is consistency – and I thought we showed that for the most part of the game,” added Baldwin.
“I thought defensively that was the best we’ve looked, probably that first 10 minutes was the game changer for us holding them out.”
For the Gogs this result ended a run of four straight victories at Parc Eirias. Reflecting on the defeat, director of rugby Josh Leach said: “We started really well, putting them under pressure in that opening 10 minutes. They defended well when other teams would have broken. That was the story for much of the game.
“They defended well, with width and made the ruck messy, plus took their chances when they arrived.
“When they did score, it came quickly and easily for them; we couldn’t really build into the game, and they seemed to have the answers.
“It was a huge effort from the boys in attack with energy and, if we brought that to another team in another game, then we would have been rewarded. But today everything fell for Bridgend and credit to them for taking advantage.”
