The home side went down to their first defeat of the campaign to Edinburgh in the Scottish capital last weekend. Skipper King and scrum half Sian Jones returned to the Lightning starting line-up for the visit of the Scots.
The Warriors were looking for their first win of the league and pushed Gwalia all the way and produced an impressive display on Welsh soil.
Gwalia opened the scoring almost straight from the kick-off with two trademark busts by Number 8 King and prop Maisie Davies saw full back Rhodd Parry crossing for the try out wide.
Fly half Carys Hughes added the conversion to make it 7-0 for the perfect start for the home side.
But Glasgow enjoyed a period of pressure of their own and dominated the rest of the half and but the visitors finally crossed from a quick tap penalty and centre Briar McNamara crossed for the try to make it 7-5.
Glasgow then took the lead after another impressive period pressure saw Gwalia’s defence buckle when flanker Gemma Bell crossed from short-range for the visitors second try.
McNamara added the conversion to make it 12-7.
Glasgow full back Sky Phimister then produced a try out of nothing with electric pace to extend her side’s lead. McNamara added the extras to make it 19-7 at half-time.
After the break, Gwalia went down to 14-players when replacement hooker Molly Wakely was shown a yellow card.
The game went to uncontested scrums and Gwalia and hit back when lock Alaw Pyrs raced away to cross for the home side’s second try to make it 19-12.
Gwalia then came to life with captain King and prop Davies leading from the front but centre McNamara then turned the tables and raced away for the try which she converted to make 26-12 to the visitors.
Gwalia replied with a try by wing Courtney Greenway to claw the home side back into the contest to make it 26-17
Wing Greenway grabbed her second try moments later to and Hughes made the conversion to cut the deficit to two points.
The visitors then set up on the home side’s line and only great defence typified by fly half Hughes holding up Glasgow Number 8 Emily Coubrough up over the line.
Captain King crossed for the vital try to secure the win and fly half Hughes converted to make it three wins out of four for Gwalia. win
