The Welsh side sit third in the Celtic Challenge league table and are hot on the heels of the Irish powerhouses who have dominated the cross-border competition.

The Lightning are only two points behind second-placed Clovers and four points behind leaders and reigning champions Wolfhounds.

Bryonie King is captain and leads a side with three changes and one positional to face a Glasgow side fifth in the league table.

Welsh international King is selected and Number 8 with fellow Welsh Test star Gwennan Hopkins moving to blindside flanker  and Catrin Stewart at openside.

Wales Test star Carys Williams-Morris comes in on the wing and completes an all-international back three, with Jenny Hesketh at full-back and Caitlin Lewis on the other wing.

Molly Anderson-Thomas is selected at centre and joins Kelsie Webster in the midfield, with Wales scrum half Sian Jones and Carys Hughes at half-back.

Lock Paige Jones comes into the Lightning engine room and links up with Alaw Pyrs in the second row for the trip to Scotland.

Catrina Nicholas-McLaughlin, Gwalia Lightning head coach, said: “We took real confidence from our performance last time out against the reigning champions out in Ireland and want to build on that.

“We know Glasgow at home will be a tough challenge and they will be full of confidence after recording their first win of the season in the Scottish derby in their last Celtic Challenge game.

“But this is about us and focussing on what we want to do and knowing that Gwalia Lightning have proved that we are a good side.  We need to keep building and establishing our identity as a team in this league.”
