The Welsh side bounced back after last week’s defeat to Irish side Clovers with a big performance on the road in Scotland.

Wales second row Gwen Crabb grabbed a hat-trick of tries, with wing Ellie Tromans and replacement Rosie Carr both crossing for tries in the bonus-point win.

Scrum half Seren Singleton, once again, was a constant threat and a livewire for Thunder and fly half Hanna Marshall slotted over four conversions.

This was the first of two back-to-back games between the two sides as the league campaign wraps up.

Both sides had a win each in the league ahead of this clash and were looking to build on that and produce a performance as the season comes to a close.

A young and exciting Thunder squad would have learnt so much from a difficult campaign as they look ahead to next season. But the likes of scrum half Singleton, flanker Lucy Isaac, prop Cadi-Lois Davies, full back Hannah Lane have all impressed during this competition.

All three players are a perfect example the exciting young Welsh talent being exposed to cross-border rugby in the Celtic Challenge.

Brython will finish their Celtic Challenge when they return home to face the Warriors at Parc y Scarlets next Sunday, March 9th.

The visitors started with real intent with centre Gabby Healen making one defence-splitting break which saw Thunder stopped on the Warriors line.

Skipper Jess Rogers was held up over the line and the Thunder had created two early opportunities to but failed to convert them.

Thunder finally got the try they deserved when Welsh international second row Crabb crossed for the try after a quick-tap penalty by Singleton. Hanna Marshall added the extras to make it 7-0.

Brython extended their lead when lock Crabb crashed over from short-range for her second try with Marshall adding the conversion.

Glasgow centre Briar McNamara scored a try and converted her own try before a superb break by full back Hannah Lane put wing Ellie Tromans in for Brython’s third try.

Fly half Marshall added her third conversion to make it 21-7 to the Welsh side at half-time.

After the break, wing Abi Evans crossed for the Warriors second try in the corner before replacement hooker Carr crashed over after a driving lineout to extend Thunder’s lead.

Thunder skipper Rogers was held up for a second time over the line before a length of the field try by Glasgow’s Roma Fraser before Crabb crossed from short-range to seal the Welsh side’s win.
