Evans braces himself for second test

Ospreys second-row Evans, 21, produced a top display in his first game at international level against the fearsome Pumas pack. Evans scored Wales’s second try – a 60-metre interception – but it was not enough to save them from an agonising 27-25 defeat in Puerto Madryn, but he reckons Wales showed enough promise to be confident of levelling the series in Buenos Aires on Saturday.

“It was a great feeling to play for Wales and to score made itall the more special, but it would have been better had we won,” said Evans. “It was a dream come true to play for Wales but I’m disappointed with the result.

“It was a bruising encounter and I think we more than matched them but in the end their experience told. There were plenty of bumps and bruises after the game but we now know what we are going to face this weekend and we know we can do well.

“We made a few mistakes but overall we were pretty pleased with the way the boys fronted up to their physical style. We had a few chances that we didn’t put away but I’m sure we can step up again fore the second Test.”
