Rod Stewart set to rock Millennium Stadium

He will delight ardent rockers when he plays at the atmospheric venue, one of only six UK gigs.

Paul Sergeant said, “The Stadium on July 7th will undoubtedly be a fantastic place to be. This is another big name in a growing list of superstars we have had here in the last two years.”

“You don’t have to be a Rod Stewart fan to enjoy his concerts, the concert will have massive benefits to the city and we anticipate thousands of fans from across the country flocking to Cardiff.”

**Tickets are available from the Cardiff Box Office on 02920 224488 or by calling 0870 400 0688, and www.LiveNation.co.uk from 9am on Friday November 10th. Prices are £65, £60 and £55**

Last year Stewart performed four sold-out nights at London’s Earls Court as part of a nationwide UK tour. He also played a packed Blenheim Palace alongside other arena dates in Manchester, Newcastle, Birmingham and Sheffield.

Following the hugely successful ‘Great American Songbook’ series – which has sold over 15 million copies and is the biggest selling ongoing collection of new music recordings in history – ‘Still The Same…Great Rock Classics Of Our Time’, out now on Sony BMG, is his first rock album to hold the Number 1 position since ‘Blondes Have More Fun’ in 1979.

It is also his 35th charting album, fourth Number 1 album, sixth Top 10 debut, and his 4th consecutive studio album to enter the Billboard charts within the top 2 positions.

Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1994, he is recognised as among the best interpretive singers of our time. He has consistently been a presence in the charts since his 1971 release ‘Every Picture Tells a Story’ and the smash hit ‘Maggie May’ – both of which held the Number 1 spot in the US and the UK simultaneously, a chart first.
