Head Performance Coach Nigel Davies said:Â “We are pleased to have our first Heineken Cup game at home and it will be a great atmosphere as one of the last three games ever to be played at Stradey Park. It will signal the end of an era and we are expecting a full capacity to get behind the team – we are really looking forward to it.
“It will be very important for us to get off to a good start early and confidence builds from there. We meet Stade Francais, who will be viewed as group favourites, early on so if we can perform well then it will give us momentum for the rest of the campaign. We’ve got back-to-back games against Ulster but we are happier going away first.
“It’s going to be a high profile season for us as we will also meet Stade Francais and Ulster later on in our new stadium – Parc y Scarlets – so that should be a great occasion for our supporters as well.”
The Scarlets will be moving into their new £23m, 15,000 seat stadium Parc y Scarlets at the end of November 2008.
