With the RBS Six Nations starting this weekend, it is the only fixture in the division and promises to be an exciting match between two sides in fine form.
Aberavon blew away Pontypool 48-17 last weekend to sit in third place on the table while visiting Llanelli head up the Premiership with only two defeats all season.
“They are much improved this year,” said King. “They have bolstered their pack and this season, they are going to places and grinding out wins that in past years they would have lost.”
King hopes that this weekend will not be one of those matches. Aberavon have been undefeated since narrowly losing a Boxing day match last year to eventual champions Neath, and King says that his side have been looking forward to the visit of Llanelli since losing to them in the season opener.
“We looking forward coming to our home patch and gaining revenge for defeat earlier in the season,” he said.
“They are a tough team to beat, but if we can put everything in place we have what it takes to get behind them. We are the top try scoring team in the division and full of confidence. They boys are really looking forward it.
But King admitted: “They will start as favourites after a very good season.”
And despite inclement weather conditions across Wales, King is confident the match will go ahead. He said: “Our field is not frozen, just a little touch of snow and we expect it to be cleared.
Saturday’s match at the Talbot Athletic Ground kicks-off at 2:30pm and tickets still are available for purchase at the gate.
