Before the gaze of watching National Academy Manager Phil Davies an impressive Bridgend team took an early lead with a well worked try for wing James Teale. In a cohesive first half performance further tries from centres James Olds and Christian Jenkins, and a conversion from outside half Tom Parry gave the Bridgend team a 17-0 half time lead.

This lead was extended in the early part of the second half by tries for Bridgend by captain David Bishop and Man of the Match Olds and a further conversion for Parry.

To their credit the Cardiff team fought back well in the latter stages of the match and replacement No.8 Daniel Crimmins crashed over for two muscular tries, one converted by composed outside half Josh Hurley.
