Cardiff Blues are sweating on the fitness of several key players ahead of their crunch Magners League clash against Munster.

Wales and British Lions prop Gethin Jenkins is struggling with an ankle injury suffered in the Amlin Challenge Cup semi-final victory over London Wasps.

And with fellow prop Taufa’ao Filise already ruled out with a groin injury, the Blues are facing a potential front-row problem.
Wales lock Bradley Davies is a doubt after suffering a back spasm while Andy Powell is out for the rest of the domestic season with a calf injury.

The Blues are hoping to field their strongest possible team as they aim to over-take Munster for the last place in the play-offs with victory, while also denying the Irish province a bonus point.

Director of rugby Dai Young said: “We are aware of what’s needed and we’ve spelt it out to the players. But first and foremost, you have to look at how you’re going to win the game and worry about the issue of bonus points and points difference afterwards.”
