George North (18) and Scott Williams (20) – two of the Scarlets’ talented young backs who have won Wales squad call-ups for the autumn internationals, will be warmly welcomed back at Parc y Scarlets to pull on their Scarlets shirts this weekend. The pair have been released by Warren Gatland to get extra game time with their region.
Into the Scarlets starting line-up come a number of new faces all eager and hungry to pull on the jersey after game time at Premiership feeder club Llanelli RFC.
Scarlets supporters will have plenty to watch as they eye-up the new breed of Scarlets with the arrival onto the Parc y Scarlets field of Gareth Davies (scrum-half), brothers Aaron Shingler (second row) and Steven Shingler (bench, fly-half) and Dan Newton (fly-half).
Added to the energy and dynamism of a young and exciting Scarlets backs division with an average age of just 21, is plenty of experience up front in the shape of Phil John, Vernon Cooper, Ken Owens and Wales sevens star and back row Richie Pugh who has been on impressive form in his last two Scarlets outings.
And back for his first start for the region will be Samoan international Jonny Fa’amatuainu, who has won 11 test caps between 2005 and 2009.
