Last season’s champions the Scarlets are still looking to record their first victory of the campaign after their first match against the Dragons was abandoned due to an horrific leg injury to Wales centre Clare Flowers.
Scarlets Team Manager Sara Davies is expecting the Blues to be a tough obstacle to overcome at Cardiff Quins.
“They tested us last season and I’m sure they will be in confident mood after they came from behind against the Ospreys in their last game.
“We need to be clinical and ensure we finish everything off. Against the Dragons we dominated possession but didn’t score so we need to convert pressure into points.
“Saying that we were happy with our opening performance in this year’s championship at Ammanford.”
The Scarlets have tinkered with their backline with Caryl James moving to full back while Heledd Stephens has switched from halfback to outside centre which enables Laura Marsh to start at scrum half.
Blues captain Jennifer Davies is looking forward to the challenge ahead and in particular her own personal battle with fellow Welsh international Catrin Davies.
“It’s going to be a very tough game. I’ve played alongside Catrin for Wales and with Cardiff Uni so I know her strengths and weaknesses.
“I was very proud of the team in the last game, every player from one to 22 put in a good performance. They didn’t drop their heads when we were behind against the Ospreys. We played together as a team and we got the rewards for it.”
