The battle for the Principality Premiership title is hotting up and Neath’s penultimate game sees them visit Carmarthen Quins aiming to build on the good work done in Tuesday’s tremendous 32-10 win against Swansea at St. Helen’s.

The Welsh All Blacks’ fate is in their own hands as two bonus point wins in their remaining games would leave Pontypridd trailing them.

Neath make four changes from the side that defeated Swansea with wing Alec Jenkins and tight forwards Andy Littlehales, Ross Davies and Nathan Bonner-Evans returning. Mike Collins and fit-again Luke Ford join a very forceful-looking replacements’ bench.

Head Coach Patrick Horgan, said: “We were very pleased by the overall dynamism of our performance on Tuesday. We defended robustly and showed great discipline and attacking sharpness against what was a very strong and dangerous Swansea side but now it’s all about Carmarthen Quins and there’ll be no resting on our laurels.

“Apart from ourselves, they are the only other club to have beaten Pontypridd so we fully recognise and respect their capabilities. Carmarthen are a proud bunch, always well prepared and, in our opinion, a real credit to the Premiership. They invariably make things tough for us and will be another difficult hurdle.

“Thursday’s training session was fairly light as we aim to keep the squad fit, fresh and focussed at this stage of the season. We can take confidence from beating Swansea but Carmarthen will be an equally as difficult challenge – they have a few players attached to the Scarlets and their academy and seem to have players whose allegiances float between them and Llanelli.

“It is up to us to impose ourselves, a challenge that we are looking forward to and we hope to take good support down west because Carmarthen is always a popular destination for our supporters.”
