The Welsh All Blacks registered a 28-20 win at Bedwas last week after building up a 19-3 half-time lead. They were disrupted by injuries to outside-half David Langdon (jaw), prop Nicky Downs (shoulder) and lock Nathan Bonner–Evans (leg) and all three are non-starters against Carmarthen Quins.
Neath coach Patrick Horgan said, “We were very pleased to take the points at a difficult venue in Bedwas who will claim a few scalps up there this season but we can and must improve on last week’s display. We created plenty of try-scoring chances and need to be more clinical and our performance tailed off a little in the second-half although we led from start to finish.
“We are expecting a similarly strong challenge from Carmarthen Quins who secured a good 7-nil win over Swansea last week. We have a lot of respect for the Quins and expect them to be motivated by the announcement of plans for next season’s Premiership.”
Alec Jenkins makes his 50th appearance for Neath who are likely to bring in Nathan Brew at centre while James Thomas will play at outside-half. Owain Ford, Ashley James and Euros Evans re-inforce the front five with Stefan Jones likely to make his league debut in a back-row which has yet to be finalised.
