Neath make sweeping changes

Having surrendered the Premiership’s last 100% tag at Llandovery (10-15) last Saturday, Neath will be looking to get back on track against Pontypool at The Gnoll (kick off 2.30pm).

The Welsh All Blacks who still lead the table – now by a single point from Aberavon and Llandovery – make seven squad changes.

David Evans takes over from Jamie Davies who bruised ribs at Church Bank with Nathan Brew back at centre. David Langdon and 19-year-old Tom Barry pair up at halfback while Andy Littlehales and the promising Tom Price come into the front row and Adam Powell, one of Neath’s most impressive performers this season, returns at lock.

Coaches Patrick Horgan and Richard Webster were dismayed by last Saturday’s sub-standard display and are expecting an equally as strong challenge from Pontypool.

Horgan said, “Pontypool are a proud club with a great history and tradition. They will contest everything so we need to re-assert ourselves.“

Neath A.Jenkins; K.James, N.Brew, L.Ford, D.Evans; D.Langdon, T.Barry; O.Ford, A.Littlehales, T.Price; E.Evans, A.Powell; G.Gravell (captain), L.Evans, S.Jones

*Neath’s 60-5 win over the South Wales Miners’ XV on Monday evening helped the Club pass the £10,000 mark as their contribution to the appeal fund.
