Jones becomes the sixth Osprey to reach the landmark, behind Paul James, Jonathan Thomas, Sonny Parker, Andrew Bishop and Duncan Jones.
“I’m honoured and very proud to make it to 150 appearances for the Ospreys, and to be up there with some great players for the region who have already achieved it,” said Jones.
“Time flies really quickly and it only seems like yesterday that we were starting off as a new rugby team, a new entity, and we’ve been through a hell of a lot together as a team since then.”
Ospreys Director of Coaching, Scott Johnson, commented: “It’s going to be a real test for us, going down there to a full house to take on a resurgent Scarlets team that has a potent back line.
“It’s a challenge, but it’s what Christmas is all about, the traditional derby match against your local rivals, and this game is a pretty exciting prospect for everyone.
“There’s always a lot of pride at stake in these derby fixtures, on and off the pitch, and it’s not going to be any different on Monday. You’ve got two teams who will be stinging a little bit after the disappointment of the last two weeks in Europe, but what I can guarantee you is that we are itching to get back into it and want to make the fans proud of this team in a big game that will have all the intensity of Europe.
“Traditionally we’ve hit some kind of form over this period with the players spending a prolonged spell in camp with us. Clearly things have been a little different this year with the December international disrupting things for all the regions, but it’s hugely important for us if we want to cement our place in the play-off spots that we get that consistency into our game.”
