Ross Grimstone starts at hooker and there is a shuffle in the back row where Dan Richards moves to No 8 with Alex Bourne coming in on the blindside. The backs remain the same with the strike force of Xiberras and Lovell in tandem again. With the increase in subs for the cup Rhodri Dawes and Tom Daley, recently signed from Ebbw Vale, join the squad.
“We’d have preferred it at the Wanderers but we’ve nothing to lose against a club with the resources and backing that Cardiff has. We are going to enjoy the day and give it our best shot,” commented Wanderers Manager Gavin Walker before the weekend’s cup clash against Cardiff.
“There will be a number of familiar faces in the opposition, players who have been part of our set up in recent years. It will be great to see the development they have made since leaving the Wanderers,” added coach Chris Ower.
