The two are products of the Rhondda Valley and as such are making a homecoming as they sign up for Ponty.
Scott Roberts began his senior career with Pontypridd back in 2003 having graduated from the Celtic Warriors Academy. After short spells with Bridgend and Cardiff he was offered a regional contract by the Scarlets and turned out for Llanelli in the Premiership. Another move followed to Coventry in the English Championship before Scott returned to Wales to represent the Gwent Dragons and Bedwas.
Capped by Wales at Youth and under 21 levels, the 27-year-old loose head prop stands at 6ft and weighs in at 18st8lbs.
Jenkins is another son of the Rhondda Valley who began his career with Treorchy before moving on to Glamorgan Wanderers whilst representing the Blues Under 20s age grade.
Having gained international honours with Wales at Youth and Under 20 level Jenkins was signed up to the Gwent Dragons region and allocated to Bedwas in the Premiership.
Aged 25, 6ft 2in in height and 19st3lbs in weight, Jenkins is a renown scrummager on the tight head.
Announcing the recruitment of Roberts and Jenkins, Pontypridd senior coach Dale McIntosh commented: “Both these players are proven at club and regional level and come with a reputation as effective scrummagers and ball carriers.
“They are both returning to their roots and will be given a settled environment to concentrate their efforts at Pontypridd. Both are in their mid twenties and as such have their best days yet to come. They still have every opportunity to develop in the game and I am sure could make the mark at regional level with the Blues.”
