Supported by the commitment of its Board, the WRU has begun the process of undertaking a detailed and comprehensive review. To achieve this, the WRU has asked its clubs to share their information and experiences by completing an online census covering all aspects of rugby in Wales from ground facilities through to players and volunteer numbers.
Group Chief Executive Roger Lewis commented, “The community game must continue to be the solid bedrock for rugby in Wales and can be achieved by encouraging people of all ages to participate in rugby.”
In pursuit of this objective, the WRU requires an understanding of what currently exists in rugby communities throughout Wales before planning future investment and priorities seeking not only to drive the WRU forward but also to develop and answer the needs of its clubs effectively. This is an opportunity for clubs to influence the future direction of the WRU.
The census was opened to clubs on 13th April 2012 and will run until the 31st May 2012 and is completed fully on-line to ensure that the data collated can be collected and analysed efficiently by the WRU.
Any club who are unaware of the census or experiencing problems in completing the census should email census@wru.co.uk
