Anthony Buchanan’s side lost out on their away trip to Moseley last weekend, eventually falling to a 36-26 defeat and a similar result against Gala would pretty much eliminate their chances of reaching the knock-out stages.
And Buchanan knows tomorrow’s game is a must win for his side.
“A result was there for the taking against Moseley and we might look back at that and regret it,” he said.
“It’s a must win game tomorrow but we’re looking forward to the challenge of taking on Gala. It’s going to be a difficult game and they’re a talented bunch so we’ll have to be at our best to beat them.”
Llanelli go into the game with a number of injuries. Aled Hopkins is out as as is captain and lock Adam Powell who is suffering with a thigh injury.
But despite a number of players being unavailable, Buchanan believes his side can get one over on their Scottish opponents and is hoping home support will count in their favour.
Llanelli’s clash with Gala kicks-off straight after the Scarlets’ Heineken Cup meeting with Leinster with Buchanan hoping the crowd for their game will swell as a result.
“I’m expecting a better performance and it’s the first time we’ve got back to back games with the Scarlets,” he said.
“We’re kicking off straight after their Heineken Cup game with Leinster so I’m hoping that a lot of the supporters will stay behind to watch us afterwards.”
