With the Ospreys not playing till Boxing Day, Morgan is available to play for the Ravens and head coach Ben Rose has grabbed the opportunity, slotting the young fly half straight into his starting XV.

Morgan’s availability means the mercurial Jamie Murphy moves to full back in a strong Ravens side. Another Osprey, Tom Habberfield partners Morgan at half back with the Wales U20 international another given the chance to impress.

The strong half back pairing means new signing Lewis Williams has to settle for a place on the bench. Williams joined the club from Pontypridd this week and is looking forward to pulling on the Blue jersey.

“I’m really looking forward to the challenge and can’t wait to get started,” he said.

“Hopefully I can fit well into the side and take them into the top half of the table. Getting the chance to play regularly will also help me and I will hopefully score some points to aid my ambition in life which is to play rugby at the very highest level.”

Having played his age grade rugby with Tonyrefail, Lewis was spotted and signed by the Cardiff Blues who placed him with Pontypridd. Lewis went on to play for Glamorgan Wanderers, before re-joining Pontypridd in 2011.

Williams played a large role in Pontypridd’s league success and cup run last season but has found his opportunities limited due to the form of ex-Ravens playmaker Dai Flanagan and youngster Simon Humberstone.

This has seen Lewis loaned to Llanharan and his performances have impressed Ravens head coach Rose who has chosen to add to his options at number 10.

Llandovery travel to the Brewery Field in confident mood after British & Irish Cup success against Doncaster. After a record start to the season, the Drovers have slipped behind Bedwas and Pontypridd at the top of the table and will be looking to get back to the Premiership summit in the New Year.
