The game will kick-off at 2.00pm and the WRU owned region have announced that fans will be able to watch the game for free. New head coach Bernard Jackman is currently in France with the bulk of his squad preparing for the first of three away friendlies on Friday night against Montpellier.
The Dragons then face Northampton Saints on Saturday at Franklin’s Gardens on Saturday before heading to Sandy Park to meet reigning English champions Exeter Chiefs on Saturday, 19 August. The game at Ebbw Vale will give fans the chance to see how the team is shaping up for the new PRO14 campaign.
While entry to the match is free for all supporters, fans must collect a paper ticket before arrival from the Rodney Parade Ticket Office or Eugene Cross Park. The Rodney Parade Ticket Office is open 9.00am – 5.00pm on weekdays, where the Dragons Community team will be on hand to showcase to fans the new Rodney Parade match day experience.
“We’re pleased to back up our stated intent of wider engagement in the region with the announcement that our first home game of the new season will be at Eugene Cross Park. This match will give supporters an early opportunity to see our new players and coaches up close and personal, and with free access for all of the family we hope that there’ll be plenty of interest,” said Dragons CEO, Stuart Davies.
It won’t be the first time the Dragons have played a game at Eugene Cross Park. They met Northampton Saints at the home of the Steelmen in 2014 and they spread their wings at the end of last season when they played Cardiff Blues at Caerphilly’s Virginia Park.
“Following an exciting match against Northampton Saints in 2014, we are pleased to be hosting yet another friendly for our region. We look forward to meeting Glasgow Warriors and hope that both teams put on an exciting display, similarly to when the Dragons last played here,” said Ebbw Vale chairman, Jon Jones.
Dragons memberships are currently on sale with prices starting at just £129 per adult, for more information or to buy yours now call 01633 674990 or click HERE.
