But Llanharan clawed their way back in superb fashion. Their outside-half Harley Thomson was crowned man of the match, scoring 23 points, which included two tries.

With two games to go on their fixture list, champions Ebbw Vale secured their 23rd win of the season after a comfortable 45-28 victory at Narberth.

Bargoed sealed second place after a 43-12 win at bottom side Whitland. Darren Humphreys scored three tries for a Bargoed side that can mathematically finish the season with triple figure points.

Neil Burnett’s 21 points helped Newbridge climb to fifth place after their narrow 26-24 victory over Blackwood whilst the kicking prowess of Clayton Gullis made all the difference for Pontypool after they beat high-flying Tata Steel 15-14.

Cardiff Met are now tied points with Tata in fourth place after they beat Bonymaen away 17-13. Beddau secured a bonus point victory over strugglers Glamorgan Wanderers with the result ending 33-17.
