The nine winners from each of this season’s rounds have now been added to a poll where fans from around the world will be given a chance to decide the overall winner – and both Welshmen must be in with a great chance of claiming the ultimate accolade.
Allen gave Wales the dream start in their Cup final against Fiji in the sixth round of the world series in Hong Kong. The first of two tries for Allen in the final, he collected the ball just outside his own try line and with centimetres to play with, showed great composure in front of 40,000 fans, carving his way past the Fijian defence to score under the posts.
Webber, who began the season with Ystrad Rhondda in the SWALEC Leagues, demonstrated his wonderful skills and pace to great effect in his try against Kenya at the end of day one of round seven in Japan. He performed two mercurial sidesteps to break his way through the Kenya defence leaving the sweeper with no chance.
The poll will be run for one week, when the try with the most votes will be awarded the ‘Fans’ favourite try of the 2012/13 HSBC Sevens World Series’.
