The Llanelli Touch league has been blessed with good weather as all games have run smoothly.

It has been eventful this year with the top three places in the table hard to call right up until the last game on July 8.

“Touch leagues in the Scarlets region are set up at Coleg Sir Gar with seven teams taking part on Monday evenings,” said Daryl Richards, WRU Participation Officer for Scarlets region.

Elsewhere, there are two touch leagues running both in Haverfordwest and Tregaron. Numbers are good in both with four to five teams playing every week in both league. Only the Haverfordwest league has a playing charge.

“Llanelli is the fastest growing area for Touch in Wales,” said Matthew Enoch, Development Director for the Wales Touch Association.

“Llanelli has already seen a number of players from the league represent Wales with high hopes this will continue into the future.

“Elsewhere, touch is new in Camarthen this year in the heartland of a traditional hotbed of rugby talent. The hope is that it will become a similar source of talent for Touch in Wales.
