Faletau, who recently signed a new two-year deal with the Dragons, ended last season with another RBS 6 Nations medal and a British and Irish Lions series victory under his belt.
Speaking at the WRU Store, where Faletau met supporters buying tickets for the Dove Men Series, he said he is raring to go and can’t wait for the season to begin.
“It’s been a good year and it was obviously great to be part of the Lions series win,” he said.
“It was my first week back this week but I’m raring to go.
“It’s been great to come home and sign another two years on my contract with the Dragons and it’s about getting back up-to top fitness again in the next few weeks.
“With Wales we are going to have four tough encounters this autumn and it’s vital we keep the recent momentum going but we are going to have to take each game as it comes.
“What happened in Australia was great but its back to square one and back to work. We will take a lot of confidence from it but it’s all about performing this time around.
“We will have to put in some good performances and hopefully we’ll come out on top.
“It’s going to be a physical campaign and we need to expect that. South Africa will be physical from the start and then we have Argentina, who are a really good team and can beat anyone on their day.
“Tonga will of course be a special day for me. I’ve lived in Wales for pretty much all my life but my background is from Tonga and it will be a proud moment for me if I take to the pitch and play against the country in which I was born.
“With Australia we have been so close recently, only losing out at the end of games, so we will have to take our recent confidence into that game.
“I’m just looking to start the season well and if I’m in the Welsh squad for the autumn I’ll be ready to give it my all.”
