Warren Gatland said the WRU has been fully supportive and professional in helping the national squad develop over recent years.
He added the WRU has recognised that a properly funded staffing and facilities infrastructure was vital for team preparation.
He said: “The success of the national team has required the best people working in the best possible environment with the very best facilities to nurture the talent we have at our disposal.
“To achieve this we have needed the financial and operational support of the Welsh Rugby Union and we have been able to rely on that with confidence.
“For us the success of the national team is all about pride and determination, but we are keenly aware of how a winning Wales team can help deliver financial strength to Welsh rugby as well. It is that strength which makes sure the whole of Welsh rugby is supported and nurtured.
“If the way the national squad gets treated is a measure of Welsh rugby then I am hopeful we are all headed in the right direction.
“There is a lot of hard work ahead for team Wales, but our supporters can be certain we will not be distracted from the task.
“I have seen enough of Welsh rugby to know the level of passion out there at all levels and I fully understand how in these challenging times there will be clubs with questions they want answered.
“That is right and proper and I am a firm believer in the need for openness and honesty in any group, but that can be achieved while still working together.
“I know there is an EGM looming but I am confident that after a robust debate Welsh rugby will move on.
“Right now the national squad is setting off on a journey which will lead us into Rugby World Cup 2015 and there is a lot to look forward to.
“We have a lot to celebrate in Welsh rugby and I know the players who are selected for the national team will give everything they’ve got without exception.”
