The 23-year-old has beaten the most defenders (22) and made the most breaks (10) in the Guinness PRO12 this season and he is excited about starting his first outing against the Pacific Islanders in the number 15 jersey for is country.

“It’s a really big game for me,” said Williams. “It’s a chance for me to start back at 15, where I love to play and it’s a really big opportunity and I’m looking forward to it.

Williams started the opening Dove Men Series on the wing but moved to full-back after Leigh Halfpenny left the field against Australia and it was a move he was more than comfortable in making.

“I spoke to Rob (Howley) in the week and we made sure I knew both roles.  I’m used to playing in either position so it wasn’t much difference for me.  It’s an easy transition to make, there isn’t much change apart from being on the front-line a little more on the wing.

“I thought we played pretty well on the weekend.  Structurally we were pretty good, we made some individual one-on-one errors which cost us which was disappointing.”

Fiji will present Wales with a different challenge this weekend according to Williams and he is looking forward to getting the ball in hand on Saturday.

“Fiji are a huge threat and will really try and create an open game.

“We have worked all week on our structures and plans and we have to make sure we stick to it as best we can.  The coaches give us the freedom to play what’s in front of us, but we have to be careful we don’t allow it to break up to much.

“For me I love to have the ball in my hand and try to take people on.  I just want to go out there and perform.
“I have spoken to the coaches, they want me to play that type of game but Gats’ has also said that I need to keep a cool head.  That’s exactly what I’m trying to do and I hope I showed that last week.

“It’s great to be playing in a back three alongside George and Alex, they are world-class and it is exciting.”
