Following a bruising 20-13 victory in Paris, the squad were given an extended period off, however a number of players volunteered for training, including Warburton who is recovering well from a contusion to his knee.
“I’m a lot better,” said Warburton
“After the initial 48 hours, it has got a lot better and Ill be back to see the physios tomorrow (on Thursday) but all the signs are positive.
“We were given a few days off after France but it was good to see about 8 to 10 guys come in on their day off and volunteer for extras yesterday.
“A lot of it was upper body, off the feet stuff to allow our legs to recover but it was good to get a session under our belts.
“We are back in training as a squad on Thursday and Friday which we are all looking forward to.”
Looking ahead to the Ireland fixture a week on Saturday, Warburton is expecting a titanic battle.
“It’s going to be a huge game,” he said
“I’ve been really impressed with Ireland in the last twelve months. They have won their last ten games against quality opposition and they will be going into the game as favourites.”
