From the moment Warburton and the squad stepped off the train in Colwyn Bay they have been centre of attention, with supporters eager to get a glimpse of their rugby heroes.
The squad arrived in North Wales Monday lunchtime courtesy of a specially commissioned Arriva Trains Wales service. They were welcomed in an official ceremony with attracted more than 2,000 people to the streets in central Colwyn Bay.
A packed Parc Eirias played host to Wales’ open session on Tuesday with 5,000 packing the stadium to watch 15 v 15 controlled session.
The event which received 10,000 applications in just 24hrs, was a perfect opportunity for supporters to watch a live session, meet the players and interact with the squad.
As the squad departed Colwyn Bay, Warburton said the camp had been a huge success.
“It’s been pretty unreal since we have arrived,” said the Wales captain.
“We stepped off the train to thousands of people in the town and every step we have taken we have been cheered on. The supporters have been great.
“Parc Eirias was packed for the open session, everyone has been so welcoming and we’ve tried our best to meet as many people as possible whilst we are up here.
“We always knew how passionate the supporters in North Wales were but its great to meet them and be able to train in front of them.”
