England back coach Andy Farrell has revealed centre Jonathan Joseph has a chest injury while No 8 Ben Morgan is carrying a knee injury.
“At the start of every Test week we have bumps and bruises. JJ has a bit of a knock. It’s nothing too serious and we are working hard to get him fit and in an England shirt this weekend,” said Farrell.
“Ben has a little bang on his knee that isn’t serious at all,” Farrell added. “There are still a couple more knocks, people who are not serious. We’ll leave them unnamed.”
England won their Pool A opener against Fiji 35-11, but will be looking for a more convincing performance against Sam Warburton’s Wales side.
“We know what is coming. We know the type of game that they will want to play. We don’t just want to stop Wales playing. We want to impose our game on Wales from the first whistle too. The Welsh have got a great squad. With selection, you never look back. This is the side you have got and you prepare as well as you can.”
Twenty thousand Welsh fans are expected to descend on England HQ but Farrell has no fears the travelling fans will drown out the home support.
“Everyone is unbelievably excited about it, worldwide. Everyone knows this pool is difficult to play in. Everyone has been looking forward to it for years. Predictions and form can go out of the window.
“We have to be in the right place to give the performance of our lives this weekend. What will count is that England are playing in white and in the home dressing room and at Twickenham. We will have a lot ot England fans behind us.
“Everyone was right behind us all the way through against Fiji. They drove us home in the last 15 minutes.
“When we went out at the Millennium Stadium (for games in Cardiff), there were plenty of English there. I would imagine exactly the same on Saturday. There were reports today that there will be 20,000 Wales fans. Well, that means 60,000 English fans who are going to make sure they are louder and prouder.”
