As well as being drawn against the English giants in the Champions Cup, the west Wales region will also meet the Brad Barritt’s men in the Anglo-Welsh Cup – another title the Saracens hold following their win in 2015.
The tournament returns this season after being put on hold for the 2015/16 campaign due to the Rugby World Cup. The Scarlets are drawn in Pool 4 with Leicester Tigers, Newcastle Falcons and Gloucester, but will play against the clubs in Pool 1.
That means a regional derby against the Dragons at Rodney Parade on 18 November. They kick-off their campaign at home against Bath on 12 November and will also meet Northampton Saints.
Previous winners the Ospreys and Cardiff Blues will clash at the BT Sport Cardiff Arm Park on 18 November. The Blues kick-off with a trip to Exeter Chiefs on Sunday, 13 November, while the Ospreys host Harlequins in their opening game a day earlier.
Pool games will be played during the international periods in November and during the RBS 6 Nations tournament. The four Pool winners will go into the semi-finals on 11 March and the final will be played on 18 March.
This season the competition will be shown live on BT Sport for the first time, the channel committing to double the amount of live TV coverage.
