It will be the second pre-season game for the Welsh region following their home win over Leicester Tigers last weekend. They head to Welford Rod next week to face the Tigers one again before kicking-off their Guinness PRO12 campaign with a home game against Zebre Rugby.
Backs coach Gruff Rees is taking nothing for granted ahead of the game against a team ranked 25th in the World Rugby rankings.
“I feel we have been very specific with the work we are doing and there are lots of new learnings taking place and that has challenged a lot of the players. Brad Davis coming in has changed things a bit in defence,” said Rees.
“There is a lot of knowledge historically about the Ospreys defence, but that has been eroded over time. Now we are seeing defence as part as our defence with Brad here.
“There were scratchy elements, as you would expect in a pre-season game, against Leicester. We converted some pressure in their 22 into points, but expect a tougher game next week.
“Belgium will be a physical and combative group. The break down will be a tussle and the set-piece will be a challenge. We need to get that right moving forward, especially with Zebre first up.
“We also need to get more moments when we open up our game. The first game against Leicester was a challenge aerobically, with a lot of ball in play time, but going up there next week will be a tougher, more physical challenge.
“I am really pleased to have Ashley Beck and Dafydd Howells back in the squad after injuries. If we can keep Ashley fit and healthy he will really help us because he is such a connector in the side both in attack and defence.”
