Tries from Kyle Perry, Jordan Rees and Fforest Quirke, and two conversions from Dai Gratton, helped Rhydyfelin to move five points clear of their nearest rivals and lay down the gauntlet to the rest of the division a quarter of the way through the season.

Rhondda at Gelligallad Park, yet still remain two points clear at the top. There were three penalties apiece for home kicker Cory Shephard and Treorchy’s Jordan Lloyd to fashion the draw, while Dowlais made it six from six with a 31-22 win at Cardiff Quins that included two tries for Jake Howard.
Heol y Cyw moved up three places in the league as they beat Llantwit Fardre 15-5. Conor Law and Stuart Nation scored the tries with Paul Short adding a further five points from the tee, to give Heol their second win of the season.
In the North, runaway leaders Pwllheli ran riot as they thumped Bro Ffestiniog 63-0 to continue their undefeated start. Nick Butterworth, Robin Hughes-Jones and New Zealander Kalim Kelemete all scored a brace of tries for last seasons’ champions.
Nant Conwy beat Caernarfon 26-8 to move up in to third place, but Ruthin are still seeking their first win after their narrow 13-8 loss to Bethesda. They have a tough trip away to the champions this weekend to look forward to.
Aberavon Quins continued their solid start to life in Division 1 West Central as they cruised to a 31-10 win at Seven Sisters. Conor O’Callaghan scored twice for the Quins with Matthew Saker, Ryan Pugh and Kyle Williams also crossing.
Maesteg are hot on their heels, though, after their comfortable 41-15 triumph over strugglers Builth Wells. The top two teams clash at the Quins on Saturday in one of the biggest games of the season to date.
Ammanford are beginning to find their feet again as they made it back-to-back wins with a 54-17 demolition of Kenfig Hill. Last years’ runners-up secured the bonus-point before the interval after tries from Alex Davies, Ceri Rees, Emyr Price and Dafydd Pritchard in the first period.
Kidwelly fought back from an 11-6 half-time deficit to beat rivals Gorseinon 14-11 and remain top of the table in the West with six out of six. Gareth Rees kicked three penalties and a try from Richard Pearce 15 minutes from time proved the match winner.
There will be no respite for the leaders who will have to put their unbeaten record on the line against second placed Llanelli Wanderers on Saturday. The Wanderers stayed within four points at the top with a hard-fought 18-9 home win over Waunarlwydd.
