The All Blacks ran out 37-10 victors to extend their winning streak to a record breaking 18 successive Test matches and make it five in a row over Michael Cheika’s Wallabies. Mumm was cited for striking Retallick with his elbow in the 55th minute at Eden Park.
The incident wasn’t spotted by Welsh referee Nigel Owens or his assistants at the time, but the citing commissioner deemed it met the red card threshold in his review of the match. Mumm pleaded guilty to the charge, which has an entry point of a two-week suspension.
The player was offered one week by the SANZAAR judicial officer, due to mitigating circumstances, which he accepted. Duty Judicial Officer, Robert Stelzner said Mumm had acted instinctively in the incident, after being held back by Retallick in play.
Mumm will be available for the 12 November against Scotland at Murrayfield, but will have to sit out the opening game in Wales’ 2016 Under Armour Series at the Principality Stadium on 5 November. The 53-times capped Mumm has played four times against Wales and was in the Australian World Cup team that beat Wales at Twickenham last season
