Llandaff North Win The Double

The game was played as a double-header as both teams won their respective leagues as well as their cup rounds.
Caernarfon fielded a young side with many regional players amongst them but were without international Kate Jones who is taking part in the World Cup this month.
Llandaff North, captained by flanker Kate Newton, had five U19 internationals in the side. They got off to a good start when strong passing in the backs allowed winger Stacy Hardie to cross the line after 5 minutes. Moments later, Inside Centre, Jen Elkins scored under the posts and Vicki McGrath converted to give the Cardiff-based side a comfortable lead at half time.
Llandaff North applied the pressure again in the second half adding further points through tries from No 8 Emily Steer and Full back Nicola Evans. McGrath kicked another two conversions to give Llandaff North a 26-0 lead. With ten minutes remaining Caernarfon pushed on the Llandaff North line but superb tackling by winger Laura Williams held them out. The final score was 26-0
